Summary: It was Loki’s idea, but somehow Thor caught the consequences.

Work was something other people did.  Work was for peasants and servants.  Work was not how a prince spent his days, toiling away at a task that would only need to be done all over again the next morning.

Thor grumbled to himself as he shovelled the straw from the empty stall, wondering how a single horse could produce so much shit and piss.

It was all Loki’s fault.  All of it.  Even the horse somehow, though Thor couldn’t make that connection just yet.  But Thor wouldn’t have been there if not for Loki.  He wouldn’t have taken the bet, if not for Loki’s smug, punchable face.  He wouldn’t have lost the bet if not for Loki’s technically somehow by the rules cheating.  It was because of Loki that Thor was forced into labour.  He could handle losing all his gold.  Though frustrating, there was no shame in being swindled.  But Loki had taken his gold and attracted their father’s wrath all in one fell swoop, and somehow sidestepped any responsibility for himself.  It should have been Loki mucking out horse shit and piss-soaked straw.  It was his stupid idea.  His bet.  But Thor had to do all the work.
